Where: The Marienbad, 122 Carling St. London
When: 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, August 4th
What: An open dialogue between the Mayor and a cross-section of the London Twitter Community, discussing what steps need to be taken to make London as great as it can be.
Who: All are welcome to observe and ask probing questions on the day of the event, or to supply topics in advance (comment section below). Currently with the Mayor on the roundtable are James Shelley (@JamesShelley), Shaun Adamson (@late2game), and Derek Silva (@DerekSilva). We are looking for some female representation as well. Contact Richard at richard [at] richarddew [dot] ca or DM via Twitter @RichardDew.
How Much: The Marienbad has been good enough to waive their rental fee for the event. They are also offering several choices on a business lunch menu. All choices will be $15 INCLUDING non-alcoholic beverage, tax, and gratuity. No money will be collected or received by the organizer(s) of the Roundtable event.
** NOTE ** Roundtable London is not in the employ of the Mayor, paid, as volunteers, or otherwise. There are those of us in London trying to live by the mantra of being the change we want to see. We don’t want to attend press conferences, photo ops, or controlled candidates meetings. We just want a discussion. The Mayor has been good enough to oblige us for the first. If it is successful and there is opportunity and willingness, future Roundtable events will focus on other candidates.
PLEASE let us know you are coming so that the Marienbad can have the appropriate sized room set up for us. Email richard [at] richarddew [dot] ca
Some great thoughts from James Shelley on the opportunity we have this Wednesday. Check them out: http://tumblr.com/xmyetjuns
